Battery Safety & Charging
Please follow these important battery safety instructions before using your Vista electric bike.
- Only use the charger supplied with your Vista or an authorised replacement.
- Never leave the battery charging overnight or while you are asleep.
- Never leave the battery charging unattended or while you are away from home.
- Unplug the charger once the battery is fully charged.
- Charge the battery on a hard, flat, stable surface away from flammable materials.
- Do not cover the battery or charger while charging.
- Allow the battery to cool after riding before charging if it is hot.
- Do not charge or use a battery that has been dropped, damaged, swollen, leaking, overheating or behaving unusually.
- Never attempt to open, repair or modify the battery.
- Keep the battery away from extreme heat, cold and direct sunlight.
- Do not use an incorrect or incompatible charger.
- Keep the bike and battery away from escape routes such as hallways or doorways when charging.
If you notice unusual heat, swelling, hissing, cracking, smoke or a strong unusual smell, stop using the battery immediately and disconnect the charger if it is safe to do so. If the battery is smoking or on fire, leave the area and call 999.
